Senior Visual Designer
We’re looking for an experienced, multidisciplinary Visual Designer who combines strong brand thinking, exceptional Figma skills, and motion capabilities to turn ideas into modern, thoughtful creative
Who Are You?
You’re a multidisciplinary visual designer with strong creative instincts, sharp attention to detail, and a genuine curiosity about brands, design, and what makes creative work effective. You don’t need a highly prescriptive brief to create something beautiful. You can take an idea, ask the right questions, explore it, and turn it into thoughtful, modern creative. You care about the difference between good and great. You understand that design isn’t just decoration, and you’re interested in the strategy and thinking behind the work. You’re highly skilled in Figma, comfortable designing across different brands and mediums, and bring motion or animation skills that help ideas come to life.
What's the Role?
As a Visual Designer, you’ll create brand identities, campaigns, digital experiences, social content, print, and motion creative for a diverse portfolio of clients. You’ll work closely with content strategists, project managers, and other creatives to turn briefs and brand strategy into cohesive, engaging visual work. You’ll be trusted to bring ideas to the table, not just execute what’s handed to you. Success in this role means producing consistently strong work, thinking critically about the brief, confidently explaining your creative decisions, and continuing to push both your craft and our creative output forward.
Duties & Responsibilities
Creative & Brand Execution
Develop thoughtful, high-quality creative across brand identities, campaigns, digital, social, print, and other marketing touchpoints.
Translate brand strategy and creative briefs into cohesive visual concepts rather than relying on overly prescriptive direction.
Design confidently across a range of visual styles while maintaining each client's distinct brand.
Apply strong typography, layout, composition, colour, hierarchy, and art direction principles.
Create motion and animated assets that extend ideas beyond static design.
Build and maintain thoughtful, scalable Figma files, components, libraries, and design systems.
Creative Thinking & Collaboration
Contribute ideas and visual thinking early in the creative process, not just at the execution stage.
Collaborate closely with designers, content strategists, motion/video, project managers, and account teams.
Present and articulate creative decisions clearly and confidently.
Give and receive constructive creative feedback and use it to strengthen the work.
Ask thoughtful questions, challenge assumptions when appropriate, and identify opportunities to make the work stronger.
Creative Excellence & Growth
Maintain a high standard of craft and attention to detail from concept through final production.
Stay curious about branding, culture, technology, design, motion, and emerging creative trends.
Explore new tools and techniques that improve our creative capabilities and workflows.
Help raise the creative bar by sharing inspiration, knowledge, and ideas with the broader team.
Required Experience & Skills
Must-Have:
4+ years of professional design experience, ideally within a branding, marketing, agency, or similarly fast-paced creative environment.
A strong portfolio demonstrating brand thinking and concept development, not just polished final assets.
Expert-level proficiency in Figma, including components, libraries, auto layout, prototyping, and design systems.
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
Experience designing across multiple brands, visual styles, and mediums.
Strong understanding of typography, layout, composition, hierarchy, colour, and contemporary design.
Motion design or animation experience, with the ability to bring static creative concepts to life.
Ability to take a brief from concept through execution with a high degree of autonomy.
Strong communication skills and the ability to explain the thinking behind creative decisions.
Comfortable receiving critique, iterating, and contributing thoughtful feedback to others.
Nice-To-Have:
Experience developing brand identities and visual systems from the ground up.
Experience with After Effects or other motion/animation tools.
Experience with campaign concepting and art direction.
Video editing, photography, or content creation skills.
Experience working directly with clients or presenting creative work.

How to Apply
At POD, we believe “that most job requirements and conceptual knowledge are easily trainable. But you can’t teach drive, ambition, or passion.” (Take a look at this article, Finding Your Unicorn, written by our President, Kevin Wilhelm). Our hiring managers consider alignment with our core values and passion for our company culture to be as valuable as experience and education.
Finding the right fit is important to us, and we put real care into reviewing applications. This is your chance to show us who you are: your voice, your attention to detail, and your excitement about joining the team. Take a few extra minutes to help us see why this opportunity is the right fit for you.
We often see strong candidates miss out because of preventable issues like missing cover letters, referencing the wrong job title or company, or submitting unedited AI-generated content. We encourage the use of AI to streamline your process, but your application should still reflect your voice and accuracy. If this role excites you, let that show in how you apply.
A few tips to stand out:
Submit an up-to-date resume that highlights the skills and experience we are looking for
Include a personalized cover letter or a video cover letter (one is required, both are not necessary)
If you choose to submit a video cover letter, keep it short and engaging (under 2 minutes, please!)
Share why this specific role excites you and how your background connects to it
Make sure your application is error-free (especially the basics like company name and job title)
Answer the application questions with intention. Your responses don't need to be long; quality over quantity matters!
If you use AI, review and edit so it sounds like you and is factually correct (no - passion and innovation are not our core values, no matter what ChatGPT tells you)
Review the posted salary range before you apply and make sure it aligns with what you’re comfortable with
Always apply through our website. We will reach out by email if you are selected for the next step. Either way, we appreciate your interest and the time you spent getting to know us.
At POD Marketing, we believe in creating an inclusive work environment, which is why we’re proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We consider and evaluate all qualified candidates based on their qualifications without discrimination based on race, colour, religion, age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other legally protected characteristics.
